Man Utd transfer news: Elliot Anderson January stance clear as switch 'blocked' after sacking
Manchester United's January transfer plans are now uncertain after the club made the decision to sack Ruben Amorim last week, with Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson having been a top target
Manchester United will be hoping next week is more calm with the instalment of an interim manager to see them through to the end of the season after Ruben Amorim was sacked.
United chiefs are understood to be in talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick regarding a return to the Old Trafford dugout until the end of the season.
All attention is on bringing in a new manager after Amorim was shown the door last week, following his explosive press conference outburst after the draw with Leeds United. He called on sporting director Jason Wilcox to 'do his job.'
That would be his last act at United, with the head coach relieved of his duties less than 24 hours later. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped transfer speculation from circulating.

Manchester United will have to wait until the summer if they want to sign England international Elliot Anderson, with Nottingham Forest standing firm, with their not for sale stance in January.
The Tricky Trees are struggling at the wrong end of the table after qualifying for Europe last season, with Anderson a star man. Man United, Bayern Munich, Man City and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the former Newcastle United man.
However, The Athletic claim his asking price would be too high for Premier League clubs to make an approach this month, given the need to comply with financial fair play.
Nevertheless, a bid in the region of £80m-£100m could bring Forest to the table.
Championship side keen on United youngster
Championship high-flyers Hull City are keen on a loan move for Manchester United youngster Toby Collyer following his return to Old Trafford. The Tigers are in talks with United to sign the midfielder who spent the first half of the season on loan with West Brom before being recalled by Ruben Amorim.
"We have an option to bring Collyer from Man United, so we will see," Jakirovic told Hull Live. "We spoke already this summer. It was a very nice conversation together with Jonny Evans at that time, who was the loan manager (at United), but at that time, he chose West Brom, which is OK I respect that.
"Maybe he didn't believe that we would have a good season, and have a good team. It was tricky back then, when you have an embargo, you cannot bring the players. Also, you must look after yourself because you need the minutes, and maybe in our team it's easier to get the minutes."
Man Utd 'block' January transfer
Manchester United have reportedly blocked any transfer talks with Serie A side AS Roma regarding a January exit for out of favour forward Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch international has been on the fringes of things this season following Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo's arrivals in the summer.
Speaking to DAZN, Roma's sporting director Massara said: "At the moment, United have closed off all transfer talks after the change of manager. I doubt they'll change their minds."
